New York
I was in New York last week. I was born and raised in New Jersey, only 15 minutes outside the city. I was there with my friend, fiance and baby girl. It is never a boring trip going home. We went to the Empire State Building and the wax museum. Last time we were in the city, we went to ground zero. I know it sounds chessy, but whenever I go to the city and they always have a memorial for 9/11. I tend to get numb. It was the reason I joined the Army and going back there everytime gets to me. I just take it very personally. My fiance has never been there and he wanted to see the reason why he has been to Iraq as well 3 times. I understand, because I deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan as well. Just standing there, emotions run through your body, that can not be explained. Just thoughts.

I have never been to NY or NJ. I have heard that both places are great. Also, thank you both for serving.
ReplyDeleteAmanda,
ReplyDeleteI bet one cannot help but get emotional when seeing ground zero, especially being raised so close to the city. I have been to New York once, and I do want to go back to visit the site. I will follow Nicole by thanking you and your fiance for serving, and for being strong while deployed.
~Leigh
Thank you both!
